I know everyone’s a bit busy these days. But I really hate to see our little project wither and die, lost in the annals of the internet. So I’m introducing the theme for this week (extending to next week!)

LEGION OF SUPERHEROES

Pick one character and draw them to your heart’s desire. Deadline is on July 9, 2010.

Lloyd Limbaga gets to choose this week’s theme, and it centers on RETRO SCI-FI.  Let’s see some rivets, people!  And in honor of the late Frank Frazetta, we’ve posted one of his paintings as inspiration! Frank, you’re still number 1!   Feel free to do your own research of other popular classic sci-fi illustrators including Wally Wood, Mark Schultz, Jack Kirby, and many others.

My turn to pick a theme. This week’s theme is Greek Mythology. It’s a classic. Lots of options for everyone whether you lean on monsters, chicks, men, monster chick men..etc. Anything and anyone goes as long as it’s within the world of Greek Mythology.

Hello ladies and gents, John here to officially announce the theme for this first week of Sketch Bin mischief.  Our first set of illustrations will focus on the evil and villainous characters of Gotham City.

They don’t all have to be Batman villains, coz he’s actually not the only vigilante in that city.  If you wish to do some research, you can use the villains of Robin, Batgirl, Huntress, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Oracle, Black Canary, and Nightwing (Bludhaven is under Gotham jurisdiction).  Have fun!

A buncha artist friends and I thought it’d be cool to start a group art blog that we could all just dump our weekly doodles into.  With everyone’s schedules getting more and more hectic, our weekly drink-and-draw sessions are becoming bi-monthly gatherings… so this site is gonna help the gang meet up and misbehave without having to leave the desk.

As the title suggests, this is a sketch blog.  Simple and loose.  The only real structure we will have is a weekly theme that contributors take turns deciding.  Again, this is a website to showcase talent as well as foster constructive criticism.  But above all, this is a place to mess around and have fun.

See you in the bin.
